Samara Bahrami is a Persian-Danish singer, songwriter, performer and teacher who has become a strong voice for the Woman, Life, Freedom movement in Denmark. Her activism has taken her from the streets into the Danish parliament, to the biggest stages in Denmark, national television and radio shows and much more - only to inform the Danish society of the many elements of the conflicts in the Middle East, and to maintain a focus on Iran. This past year, Samara has mainly performed and talked about the issues at stake in this first women-led revolution in our history.
Samara Bahrami was born in Teheran, Iran in the tumultuous time when the Islamic revolution took place. Her family fled the country as political refugees and like so many other Iranians, they settled down in the West.
Samara has an academic background in European studies and communication from Aarhus University and is also a professional pilates teacher. She is married and has two children.
