Professor Ásthildur Elva Bernharðsdóttir, is the Principal Investigator of the CMC-19 Project and will together with the Project Leader, Professor Baldur Thorhallsson, have primary responsibility of the academic coordination of the project and lead the work in data gathering and analysis in Iceland. Bernhardsdóttir is the Head of MA Crisis Management Program at the University of Bifröst. She has led an Icelandic research group on crisis management in Iceland and has developed along with Icelandic scholars' general guidelines on long-term responses to natural disasters for local authorities, and chaired the committee, appointed by the Prime Minister, who had the task to research the government‘s crisis management of Covid-19.
