This policy brief examines how the Nordic–Baltic Eight (NB8) can reduce dependence on China in the green energy transition. It explores the links between green energy supply chains, critical minerals and Arctic security, highlighting strategic vulnerabilities arising from China’s economic influence, technology and infrastructure. The brief recommends stronger regional cooperation, improved intelligence-sharing, coordinated procurement and supply-chain diversification to reduce strategic dependencies and strengthen Nordic–Baltic resilience.
