Dr. Anna Karlsdóttir, Associate Professor at the University of Iceland, has conducted Arctic social science research since 1996. Her work spans circumpolar rural regional development, blue economy and gender, cruise tourism, and climate resilience in Arctic communities. She recently finalized a Belmont Arctic supported project on Resilience in the Arctic – „Semper Arctic“, she is a Fulbright Arctic Initiative awardee and has recently kicked off a Horizon IA project „ArcticKnows“ with various European partners. As a former Senior Research Fellow at Nordregio where she led various groups of official committees and acted as administrator of the Nordic Arctic Cooperation Program she provides policy insights into Arctic socio-economic transitions.
