William “Billy” Long is the U.S. Ambassador to Iceland. He previously represented Missouri’s 7th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2011 to 2023, serving on several committees, including Energy and Commerce. In 2025, he served as Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Long also had a long career as an auctioneer and owned his own auction company. He is a fourth-generation native of Springfield, Missouri, married to Barbara Long, with two children.
