Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim is an Indigenous Mbororo woman from Chad and a leading advocate for Indigenous peoples’ rights and environmental protection. She founded the Association for Indigenous Women and Peoples of Chad (AFPAT), promoting education, health, biodiversity, and climate action. She is an expert in traditional ecological knowledge, climate adaptation, and mitigation. Ibrahim has contributed to international climate and biodiversity negotiations and has been recognized as a National Geographic Explorer and Senior Indigenous Fellow for Conservation International.
