Erlingur Erlingsson is a Senior Visiting Fellow with the Institute of International Affairs (IIA) at the University of Iceland, and a Director at Adapt, a tech policy consultancy focused on trust, safety and human rights.

Previously, he coordinated Meta’s engagement with international organizations from 2018-2022. Prior to this, he spent the bulk of his career in the Icelandic Foreign Service, including as Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Iceland in Washington DC, and three years in Afghanistan with ISAF and UNAMA.

He is a former visiting fellow at the Center for Transatlantic Relations at Johns Hopkins University SAIS.

Erlingur pursued D.Phil studies in Military History at Oxford University and holds an executive MBA from the University of Reykjavik.
