Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir has served as Iceland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs since 21 December 2024. She has been a Member of Alþingi since 1999, with a break between 2013 and 2016, and has chaired the Liberal Reform Party (Viðreisn) since 2017. Previously, she served as Minister of Education, Science and Culture from 2003 to 2009 and Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture in 2017. She also worked as Head of Education and Innovation at the Confederation of Icelandic Enterprise from 2013 to 2016. Þorgerður Katrín holds a law degree from the University of Iceland.
