Dr. Louise Olsson, Research Director, Department of Global Politics, Norms, and Societies, at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO), Norway. Her research focuses on gendered dimensions of war and effects of conflict resolution on women’s rights. She is the editor of Gender, Peace and Security: Implementing UN Resolution 1325 (Routledge 2015), and author of articles appearing in, for ex. Global Governance, Journal of Global Security Studies, and International Peacekeeping. Olsson also regularly works to support research-policy dialogue and the effective use of research in policy development and decision-making. For example, Olsson contributed to arranging a series of Dialog Forums together with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and NUPI during Norway’s term in the Security Council; she is a former Senior Advisor on Women, Peace and Security (WPS) at the FBA, Sweden; and has acted as a coach in a training program on gender equality and WPS to the Supreme Commander and to the Chief of Joint Operations at the Swedish Armed Forces. Olsson got her PhD from the Department of Peace and Conflict Research, Uppsala University, in 2007, but began her career already in 1999 by contributing to the UN project Mainstreaming a Gender Perspective in Multidimensional Peace Operations
