National Security and Hybrid Threats

The National Security Council of Iceland in cooperation with the Institute of International Affairs hosted a series of events on hybrid threats in 2019-2020. A number of local and foreign experts will participated in the events..

Among the topics that were discussed are hybrid threats, the interconnected nature of challenges and the diversity of conventional and unconventional means, hybrid defense and how to safeguard democratic values, and the importance of fostering resilience.

The National Security Council in partnership with the Institute of International Affairs at the University of Iceland, the Association of Chartered Engineers in Iceland, the Union of Icelandic Journalists, the Icelandic Film Centre, Vardberg, the Data Protection Authority, the Post and Telecom Administration, the National Commissioner of the Icelandic Police, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Transport and Local Government, the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Education, Science and Culture, and Committee on the Legislative Principles of Political Parties.
