Peace Studies have recently been enriched with new critical perspectives that emphasize the role played in peace building by aspects such as grassroots community initiatives, gender relations, space, environment, culture and identities. These are dimensions that go beyond the analysis centered on the State and Its security, allowing for a more complete, complex and transformative reading of reality. However, the outbreak of the war in Ukraine imposes a "realist" political and media agenda, in which geopolitics, state power and military confrontation take center stage. How is the war impacting on imaginaries about the reality and attitudes of the population? Does Peace Studies risk being marginalized by a wave of thinking focused on military security?
