Rome Treaties’ 60th Anniversary

Friday 5 May from 16-18 at the Nordic house

An event hosted by the Delegation of the European Union to Iceland in collaboration with the Institute of International Affairs at the University of Iceland

Rome Treaties’ 60th Anniversary

In 2017 we celebrate the 60 years’ anniversary of the signing of the Rome Treaties. The Rome Treaties, and their successors, have since then profoundly affected our daily lives through the EU and through the EEA Agreement.

We would like to celebrate, not only the prosperous past, but also our future cooperation and solidarity, built on these strong foundations.

Mr. Matthias Brinkmann, the EU’s Ambassador to Iceland, will give welcoming remarks.

Mr. Guðni Th. Jóhannesson, President of Iceland, will address the meeting.
The event is open to all and will mostly take place in Icelandic.

Light refreshments will be served.
