Latvia – a small state with a big role
Latvia’s Ambassador to Iceland, Mr. Indulis Abelis, will speak about the challenges and advantages that a small country like Latvia faces as it holds the Presidency of the European Council. Mr. Abelis will speak about the context and priorities of the Presidency of the Council of the EU and their implementation within three themes of the presidency – Competitive Europe, Digital Europe and Engaged Europe.
Mr. Matthias Brinkmann, the EU’s Ambassador to Iceland, will give the opening remarks.
Moderator: Salvör Nordal, Director of the Centre for Ethics at the University of Iceland.
Light refreshments will be served after the seminar.
