Swedish attitudes to the EU and the Euro
At this last meeting of the seminar series “The Europe Dialogues” that the Institute of International Affairs has held these past two semesters, Dr. Sören Holmberg will give an overview of how Swedish attitudes toward the European Union have evolved since the 1960’s. The main focus, however, will be on more recent developments. That also includes putting Swedish opinions in a comparative perspective.
Sören Holmberg, Professor of Political Science at the University of Gothenburg, is also Director of the Swedish National Election Studies and Co-Director of the SOM Institute (Society, Opinion and Media Institute). SOM publishes an influential annual analysis of political trends in Sweden. Professor Holmberg has authored numerous books and SOM Reports and made over 80 contributions to anthologies on the subject.
