Iceland´s Application for EU membership – A View from Brussels
Graham Avery will speak on the response of EU members to Iceland’s application to join. What do they think in Brussels? How are the negotiations proceeding? Which questions may be easy, and which difficult? What are the prospects for agreement on key issues such as fisheries? Is the Icesave dispute an obstacle? What is the outlook for the future of the European Union itself?
Graham Avery is the Senior Adviser at the European Policy Centre in Brussels; a Senior Member of St. Antony’s College, Oxford University; and Honorary Director-General of the European Commission.
The lecture is held in English and is open to all.
